The team at BD&H kicked off 2021 by being selected as the agency to manage significant changes in the works for California-based dry food manufacturer, Custom Foods. Our work in CPG and private label for food manufacturers was the driver behind our selection. Now Custom Bakehouse, the Private Equity-owned company turned to us to lead a comprehensive corporate rebrand, the repositioning of multiple brands, the creation and launch of a new brand, and the launch of an integrated direct-to-consumer website. As a Custom Bakehouse partner, BD&H played an integral role in the growth of the company – providing strategic advisory and go-to-market execution.
Following a competitive review, BD&H was awarded the bid for Agency of Record for Baxters North America/Wornick Foods, divisions of European CPG powerhouse Baxters Food Group. Our expertise in the category and demonstrated understanding of the client’s unique business were noted as “The Why.” The engagement kicked off with us navigating the company through a corporate rebrand which coincided with their acquisition of Truitt Bros, a leading US-based contract manufacturer. To guide this effort, BD&H orchestrated the insights and rebranding aimed at a differentiated corporate positioning that supports its individual business channels. The rebrand and launch of a new integrated website will be coming in Fall of 2021. Our team is eager to present a unified brand that is reflective of the combined companies and aligns with the Global Team brand strategy of this renowned 150+ year-old company.
The Arts Empowerment Project (TAEP), Charlotte, NC, helps to connect children impacted by violence and abuse to existing art programs in an effort to help to build resilience and provide positive outlets to counterbalance adverse experiences.
TAEP’s efforts came to a sudden halt in March of 2020 when COVID-19 mandates went into effect, forcing them to pause all programs and classes. This couldn’t have come at a worse time, when the youth and families served by TAEP would be even more vulnerable and were already struggling under difficult circumstances.
TAEP remained committed to their mission, collaborating with arts and community partners to develop virtual programming and outreach opportunities, and to keep communications flowing.
BD&H was eager to support TAEP in a pro bono capacity, assisting them in navigating communications challenges related to COVID-19 and the civil/social issues impacting our community. We also assisted with design for their annual fundraising campaign, and worked to launch a COVID-friendly (contactless) way to reach out to these children with creative HeART Packs to provide tools to continue exploration and healing through the arts during the lockdown.
The Board of Directors of the SEAL Family Foundation is hosting the first of several virtual Town Hall webinars, designed to benefit its programs that support Naval Special Warfare Operators and their families.
The first live Town Hall will be held Thursday, May 14, 2020, and will feature guest speaker General James Mattis (RET), the 26th United States Secretary of Defense.
During this hour-long conversation, moderated by former Navy SEAL and author Brent Gleeson, General Mattis will share his unique perspective on world affairs, where the Department of Defense fits in, and how current affairs affect servicemen and servicewomen and their families.
100% of the proceeds will be used to provide continued support to Navy SEAL families via SEAL Family Foundation’s resiliency building programs.

After all, the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) is North America’s largest trade show dedicated to the kitchen and bath industry. For our client Gerber Plumbing Fixtures, 2020 was an especially significant year as an exhibitor at the premier event, held at the Las Vegas Convention Center January 21-23, 2020.
As in years past, the introduction of new products and innovative solutions was central to Gerber’s 2020 exhibit. This year, in a newly updated exhibit space, Gerber also previewed its new unified brand following the migration of the Danze® by Gerber brand under the Gerber umbrella in 4th Quarter 2019. We are proud to have supported the execution of Gerber’s KBIS needs from a public relations and design perspective, as well as the transition of the Gerber brand.
